Safeguarding

The safety and welfare of your child is paramount to all at St. Winefride’s Catholic Primary School. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school. All concerns are passed through the members of staff who are trained as ‘Designated Safeguarding Leaders’ in school in compliance with statutory requirements. All staff and governors receive regular safeguarding training.

The Safeguarding Team

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Miss Evans, Headteacher. She is supported by Mrs Owen and Miss Rainford, our Deputy Heads. Miss Evans is also the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for any concerns regarding extremism or radicalisation. If you have a concern that any child is being harmed, or is at risk, please do not hesitate to contact one of these staff members as soon as possible on 01352 713182. They know who to contact for the best advice and help and are experienced in using the appropriate degree of confidentiality.

Information to Support and Safeguard Children

It is important that parents and carers know about important areas of safeguarding which could affect a child’s life so that we can all work together. Whilst staff at school are always available to offer advice and provide support, it is also important to offer information to all adults so that they can have sound knowledge.
